How does consumption of fat affect Coronary
Heart disease? (CHD)
Coronary heart disease is when plaque is
built in coronary arteries’ endothelium narrowing the lumen of coronary artery.
This may cause the acceleration of blood pressure level and even block the
lumen causing heart attack shock and shock.
Recent research shows that fat consumption
affects the possibility of getting CHD, since plaque is made of fatty material.
So there is certainly relation between fat consumption and CHD. Certainly it
shows that over consumption of fat might cause CHD. However it is not the case
all of the fat are causing factor of CHD. There are three types of fats which
are saturated fat, unsaturated fat and trans fat. Until now, it is found out
that saturated fat and trans fat is main reason of CHD.

F, et al. N Engl J Med 1997;337:1491–)
Saturated fat is when all fatty acid are
single bonded and those fat are mainly found in meat of animals and Trans fat
is usually found in foods that are artificially made such as in cake or
sausages. reason why these are one of the main factor of Coronary heart disease
is because that since it is all single bonded it is hard to be soluble and
those not get dissolved. Easily which will the get deposited to form plaque.
Also it raises the cholesterol level. Mainly there are two cholesterol type in
our body, Low density lipoprotein(LDL) which are bad from our body since it
helps to build plaque to build up in arteries. And high density
lipoprotein(HDL) on the other hand is a good cholesterol since it helps our
body to remove LDL from our arteries. However cholesterol which saturated and
trans fat usually create is LDL which is why they especially increase
possibility of getting CHD
However unsaturated fat is when fatty acid
are not fully single bonded, and they contain monounsaturated fat and
polyunsaturated fat where we can found in olive oil corn oil or fishes. These
unsaturated fat, on the other hand are good fat against saturated and trans
fat. Since as mentioned before, High density lipoprotein are good cholesterol
which eliminates LDL. So we can call unsaturated fat since it reduces the
danger of getting coronary heart disease.
Fat seems not but are critically important
in our life. Fats are used as insulation or storage of energy and it also has a
role of transporting blood, and it is important to find how and what fat to
consume. In our daily life, we should avoid saturated fats from avoiding animal
meats and also trans fat by avoiding foods such as muffins or cake, but consume
fat from unsaturated fat which are usually found in fish or vegetable oil such
as corn oil
